Fight or Flight! (The charm of never giving up):

Human nature is to fascinate about everything. Each day we go through dozens of things and the wheel of life never stops.

We find stacks of things, which sometimes seem difficult to handle and at some point, we impart those things but trust me, never ever give up because great things take time.

Just have a glance at your childhood, as an infant, we were truly dependent on our mother and slowly and gently we started to crawl, speak and ultimately walk. If as a newborn you gave up, you'll never able to walk.

Not inspiring enough? Now just give a thought to the story of Scottish exiled King and Spider which I'm about to present.

The year was 1306AD, after suffering a defeat and in exile, King Robert of Scotland was pondering his next move in a cave on the Rathlin Island.

He could take himself and his brothers to the Holy Land or courageously attempt to restore freedom to his beloved homeland, knowing in his heart that the former would be both criminal and cowardly. But did he have it in him to continue?

Glancing upwards to the roof of the cave, he looked at a tiny spider hanging on a thread trying to swing to a nearby rock so it could fix the line and create a web. Six times the spider tried and six times it failed to reach the beam. But it didn’t give up.

Robert the Bruce had tried to free Scotland from the English and their allies six times, and six times he had failed. The spider’s determination was not lost on him.

If the spider makes it to the rock on the seventh attempt, Robert decided, he would continue his fortunes in Scotland. If he fails, the Holy Land beckoned.

As he made this resolution, the spider – maybe sensing the moment, swung with all its might and reached the other side to fix his web. The deal was sealed and a return to Scotland followed.

So if at first, you don’t succeed, try and try again because before you give up, think about why you held for so long.

Patience is a virtue.

I still remember when our BE result was out and I was standing there and wondering that how time flies. That time me and my all friends realised that its high time to look for a job.

Fortunately, test was held at the University and I some how managed to get the job. That was a whole transition in my life, I being raised by a truly independent mother that always inspired me and I was always eager to do job and earn money to payback (that's nearly impossible) to my parents.

Coming back to the professional life, I was new at the office. Didn't know much about the environment and how the job being done as there is a big gap/bridge between academics and field. I used to be worried at times, struggling with the deadlines, at the same time i was not so satisfied with my salary without realising that how little I was useful to my seniors (Hehehe). I just want to learn and to do everything so that I can prove my self. I was so impatient and just want the things to be done quickly but Alhamadullilah blessed with the best senior and Bosses who bared me :D, taught me and understood me.

MashAllah completed almost an year at the office, now things are much more better. Still long way to go. The point being here is everything comes at it's prescribed time. As according to my boss "We want a magic wand" and this is so true. We just want promotions and increment in our salaries and just want to do everything without realising that how much is our input.

Alhamadullilah, today I am very much satisfied with my input to the work and the salary which is being payed to me.

This goes out for all my juniors, trust me i was there and I know how it feels after graduation when we are in a race and just wanted to be employed and very much upset with our starting salaries. But trust me you'll pass and you'll understand that everything has an appropriate time and It will come to you no matter what. You'll learn the things and slowly you'll grab the things. It's completely normal. So just trust yourselves because no doubt, Patience is a virtue.

Being Human

In today's world, everyone is engaged in their lives, their problems and matters, as a child we need to go to school to get good marks, then we are promoted to college where we study so hard with total force to get good grades so that we can be upgraded to a good university , then according to our interests we choose our fields as an Engineer, Doctor etc. And after the completion of the studies, we choose the selected paths to continue our life. We just want to upgrade our lives and demonstrate ourselves as best the Engineers or Doctors etc.

Just give it a thought, have we thought enough about ourselves? Who are we actually? Why Allah chose to call us Ashraf ul Makhlukat?

Allah, in the Holy Quran says:

"Indeed Allah has created the human in the best of forms. (Surah Teen v.4)"

Humans are referred to as Ashraf-ul-Makhluqat because they have the ability to choose between the right and wrong and to choose their own path.

Some of us lead our lives to the right path, some of us chose completely to overlook the true path or juggling between the right and wrong path. That's totally each person's concern and his choice.

The detail here to notice is, that first, we have to be an acceptable human being. I'm not here clarifying the definition of that human being, but before an Engineer or Doctor, you should be a Human Being.

A being, who could be called as a Human. Because It's my firm belief that if a person is not a true human being, he can never be a magnificent Engineer or Doctor.

Patience is a virtue
